Printing chamber XL
The CERES printing chamber holds the printing cell for electrochemical printing processes. Its size determines the printable area.
It consists of the following parts:
Base plate
Aluminum base plate with build-in locking and positioning mechanism. Although this base plate looks very similar to the printing chamber V3’s base plate, it is different: the depth is increased by 5mm to fit the higher chamber without changing the machine calibration (same printing height, same top camera position).
Attention
The printing chamber XL and the printing chamber V3 have a similar locking mechanism. The base plates and printing chambers must NEVER be mixed at the risk of damaging the CERES system. The height of the components is different between the V3 and XL printing chambers and using the wrong stack height will result in collisions.
Cell Body
Teflon part provided with a rigid anodized aluminum ring at the bottom
Cell Lid
Teflon part fitted with gold terminals to the chamber, a jumper connector and, a lemo plug to the XY stage sled
Working Electrode
The working electrode is composed by a single graphite piece. It can accomodate substrates of size 40x40mm.
!
Substrate holder
A teflon parts cut to accomodate 40x40mm substrates
Teflon spring
Teflon part shaped like a truncated cone
Sealing o-ring
A FKM 70 66x2.5 o-ring
Cleaning
To clean the carbon parts, Teflon parts and O-rings in contact with the electrolyte, washing with deionized water is usually sufficient if the same supporting electrolyte is used. For in-depth washing, please refer to the chamber cleaning procedures.
