Iontips

Used for XY calibration, printing or simple as protection for transporting or storing the printing head.

Consumable holder

Used for calibration and iontips gripping and dropping.

Warning

Use only A1, A3, C1 and C3 slots! Always store iontips back in their blister or in the holder rack mounted on a wellplate before removing the consumable holder from the printer.

Wellplate

Used to hold various liquids (water, electrolyte, etchant,…) for setup and cleaning purposes. The wellplate used must suit the wellplate defined in the software. To use other wellplates, their new plate definition must be defined.

Bubble drier device

Used integratively with the wellplate it allows to remove the bubble of water that forms around the iontip after the consumable has been immersed in deionized water.

The bubble drier device is composed of three elements:

• the bottom ring
• the top fitting with positioning features
• paper flapss

The paper flaps can be used multiple times as they are made out of 20mm diameter Whatman filters. To obtain two flaps rfom the disk:

1. fold the disk in half
2. cut about 1mm of paper from the straight edge in the same direction of the straight edge
3. The two obtained “halves” can be placed on the bottom ring.The notches on the bottom ring help placing correctly and maintaing the position while in use.
4. place the top fitting in the bottom ring until it bottoms out to keep the flaps in place.

Calibration plate

Used during the installation, calibration and maintenance step. Please store it properly to avoid dust deposition on the plate. The glass slide displays a 1*1mm ruler in the center used for various calibration procedures. The aluminum plate has a hole (not anodized) which is used in the XY stage calibration step. When placing the calibration plate in the printer (left port), make sure to push it at its maximum top left position to get consistent measurements.

Printing chamber V3

The CERES printing chamber holds the printing cell for electrochemical printing processes. For a detailed descriptiption of the individual parts, please refer to the printing chamber V3 page.

Printing chamber XL

The CERES printing chamber holds the printing cell for electrochemical printing processes. The printing chamber XL is an upgrade that enables the printing of larger substrates up to 40x40mm, see the design rules page for mode details. For a detailed descriptiption of the individual parts, please refer to the printing chamber XL page.

Attention

The printing chamber XL and the printing chamber V3 have a similar locking mechanism. The base plates and printing chambers must NEVER be mixed at the risk of damaging the CERES system. The height of the components is different between the V3 and XL printing chambers and using the wrong stack height will result in collisions.

Spare sealing screws and O-rings

Spare parts are delivered with the system:

• noze O-rings (head side)
• consumable O-rings (iontip side)
• a spare sealing screw already assembled with a consumable O-ring.

Probe lever

A small steel needle used to open the grippers of the printing head and to release or grip consumables by hand during installation or maintenance steps.
