Dispensing Calibration
The Dispensing Calibration workflow allows you to determine the appropriate parameters to print parallels lines on a surface. Each line can be printed with slightly different parameters.
1. Dispensing calibration in a nutshell
Navigate into the Dispensing Calibration workflow:
- Adjust the dispensing parameters.
- Move to the desired start position of the line grid.
- Start dispensing by clicking the OK button.
A line grid is calculated with the specified parameters. The current stage position is the start position of the first line of the grid.
The CERES controller approaches at the start position of each line and moves to the end position while keeping the specified setpoint. Changes in Z are handled by keeping the setpoint (e.g. when the sample area is not completely flat). Afterwards, the controller retracts and moves on with the next line.
The Dispensing Calibration workflow is very similar to the Dispensing workflow but there are a few key differences:
- The start position of the first line is the current stage position. Therefore, the line grid center is not at the current stage position, either.
- The position is not restored after the last line has been printed.
- The lines cannot be rotated.
- Each line can be printed with a different and increasing speed.
- Each line can be printed with a different and increasing pressure.
2. Parameters
The workflow lacks the Rotation parameter but provides two additional settings for the Line Configuration.
2.1 General
- Setpoint
- This setpoint is kept while moving from the start position to the end position of a line.
- Idle Pressure
- The idle pressure is set when the controller is approaching or moving to the next line. The default is the system-wide idle pressure.
- Approach Speed
- This speed is used to approach the start position of each line.
- Retract distance
- After a line has been printed, the controller retracts the tip before moving to the next line.
2.2 Line Configuration
- Line Count
- The number of lines to print.
- Line Length
- The length of each line.
- Line Shift
- The distance between two parallel lines.
- Print Speed
- The initial speed to move from start to end position.
- Pressure
- The initial pressure to apply while moving from start to end position.
- Speed Increment
- For each line, the speed is increased by this value. The first line is printed with specified Print Speed.
- Pressure Increment
- For each line, the pressure is increased by this value. The first line is printed with specified Pressure.
